PFA confiscate gutka under GUTKA-FREE PUNJAB MISSION

Lahore : Crackdown of Punjab Food Authority is continuing against those supplying gutka under Gutka-Free Punjab Mission.

DG Punjab Food Authority Noor ul Amin Mengal took action against big warehouse of gutka at a hotel at Railway station and recovered two lakh and 12 thousand packets of gutka.

According to details, DG Punjab Food Authority along with his team conducted raid at Boleda Hotel Railway Station and recovered gutka smuggled to Punjab. The warehouse of gutka was made at underground of the hotel.

A case has been registered against warehouse owner and hotel owner while orders have been issued for immediate wastage of all the gutka recovered.

According to DG Food Authority, there is complete ban on sale of gutka in Punjab as it is main cause of cancer and other fatal diseases. Action is continuing for making Punjab gutka free and no leniency will be shown to the persons involved in this heinous trade.

Punjab Food Authority imposed a fine of Rs. 25 thousand to Butt Sweets Nadeem Shaheed Road, Rs. 25 thousand to Haji Usman Hotel near Sundar at Multan Road, Rs. 12 thousand to New Waris Khan Hotel and Rs. eight thousand to Baba Haji Hotel on poor cleanliness and using unhygienic items.
