Lahore : Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the PML-N government has respected the mandate given by the people in the 2013 election and the current year is the year of the fulfillment of the promises made to the people. The Chief Minister said that completion of ongoing energy projects would end load shedding at the end of this year.
The Chief Minister expressed these words while talking to the delegation of PML-N here on Sunday.
The Chief Minister said the PML-N government has saved billions of rupees of the nation and ensured transparency in mega projects. He said the PML-N government has made a new history by using the national wealth in a transparent way and every single penny of the national wealth has been spent on public welfare projects in an honest way.
He said that looters of national resources deserved severe punishment for causing a huge loss to the national exchequer in the name of development projects. He said the corrupt mafia with the help of unscrupulous elements in the government had looted development funds mercilessly during the era of former rulers and they would realize the gravity of their crime when they would face imprisonment.
He said the plundering of national wealth and greediness of former rulers led the country to darkness. He said the time has come to held all these corrupt people accountable for their corruption and dishonesty. He said the objective of PML-N government is to serve the masses. Those who always criticize public welfare projects just for the sake of criticism are enemies of public welfare. He said strict accountability of those who plundered national wealth would end this politics of blame game.
He said resources of Pakistan have been mercilessly looted and plundered in the past, but the looters of national resources now demand eradication of corruption and delivering lectures on corruption day and night. He said the educated and enlightened people of Pakistan have rejected those who destroyed national economy by sits in, lockdowns and protests. During the dictatorship, the then rulers did not leave any opportunity to plunder the national wealth. The supporters of Musharraf gave contract of treasures of Chiniot to their favorite company without any tender process. He said these people plundered public wealth on the name of development projects and looted billions of rupees from Punjab Bank.
The chief minister alleged that these people preferred their personal interests over national ones and by hampering the development projects they proved themselves as enemies of the country.
