Ex-Servicemen celebrated Pakistan Day with national spirit

Mandi Bahauddin (Sher Gondal) : Ex-Servicemen of Mandi Bahauddin celebrated Pakistan Day with national spirit and fervor and renewed their pledge to serve and sacrifice for the country. They expressed their support with their serving brethren in armed forces and wished them success in operation Radd ul Fasad.

In a meeting held under auspices of Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society (PESS) at DASB Camp office, PESS office bearers paid tributes to Quad Azam Muhammad Alit Jinnah and his colleagues who demanded creation of Pakistan as separate homeland for Muslims of sub continent through a unanimously passed resolution on 23 March 1940 at Minto Park in Lahore, that later with their struggle turned into reality as Pakistan first time emerged on world map on 14 Aug 1947.

This was a miracle and historical achievement of our forefathers, they said. However with the passage of time people realized that Pakistan was made and meant only for elite class comprising land lords and industrialist and commoners were just there to serve them as slave. Now we have reached a point where there is complete lawlessness, inequality, disparity, corruption and gross social and economic injustice.

On one hand soldiers and poor citizens had no protection of their life and property on the other hand all security forces were employed to protect rulers and their corrupt practices. When security personnel with citizens are killed the leaders would issue statements that sacrifices of soldiers and citizens would never go waste.

They said if the rulers are serious to restore peace and justice they should volunteer for accountability and return the looted wealth. Corruption should be brought to an end. Government institutions should function according to rules and regulations and violators should be punished.

They said at present police and other departments instead of following rules and regulations act on political leaders’ direction to register or discharge cases. People without political backing have no hope of justice from government and its courts.

They urged rulers to follow and abide by law of the land in true spirit to save integrity of the country. The meeting was followed by Pakistan Day rally.

The participants raised slogans armed forces zindabad and Pakistan Paindabad. The function was ended with prayers for stability and prosperity of the country.
