A youth 16-year old namely Tayyab Elahi murdered in Phalia

Mandi Bahauddin (Sher Gondal) :  last night a youth 16-year old namely Tayyab Elahi was murdered in Helan, a suburban village of Phalia. Sub Divisional Police Officer Syed Mahmud Ahmed with police party reached the place of occurrence on receipt of information and examined the site. On complaint of brother of the deceased Phalia police have registered case against seven nominated and three unknown persons and further investigation is in progress.

Meanwhile ; under “save the calf” project a training seminar was conducted under arrangement Veterinary Hospital Miana Gondal. A man and a woman from each village of the area attended the seminar.

In his introductory message, Veterinary Dr Waqas said that our country was not producing enough animals to meet local demand of meat. There is huge production loss due to early slaughtering and mortality of male calves, especially buffalo calves. Besides, farmers due to financial reasons do not offer milk to calves.

He said the objective of “save the calf” project was to improve economy of farmers and to achieve this object it is essential to create awareness and train them how to save calves.

After introduction, the training staff lectured the seminar participants on types of animal diseases, precautions to protect animals from diseases, housing of animals, type of shelters and watering/feeding. He said a grant of Rs 5600 would be given to each person who got registered with this project.
