Minister Health visit to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Bhagtanwala

Lahore : Punjab Minister for Primary and Secondary Health Khawaja Imran Nazir carried out a surprise visit of Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Bhagtanwala District Sargodha at late night.

The Minister inspected different areas of the hospital. The Minister was surprised to know that only three patients were admitted in a facility of forty beds. The patients complained that they were purchasing medicines from market.

Khawaja Imran Nazir observed that Health Council and Local Purchase budgets were not utilized to provide necessary medicines to the poor patients and to maintain general condition of the hospital.

The Minister inspected main medicines stores where expensive medicines were found without defacing. The Minister observed that without defacing medicines means encouraging pilferage of drugs. The medicines were found laying on the floor without racks affecting quality of drugs. He also reviewed cleanliness condition in the hospital especially washrooms. The hygienic and cleanliness situation was not satisfactory.

The Minister directed to immediately suspend the pharmacists Tahir of the hospital on his poor performance and negligence from the duties.

Khawaja Imran Nazir also issued warning to the Medical Superintendent Dr. Asif for not taking corrective measures in the hospital.

Meanwhile, the Minister also paid a surprise visit with the dedicated drug inspectors’ team on two herbal medicines manufacturing units. Both units were illegally producing herbal medicines.

On the orders of the Health Minister, both illegal units were challaned and sealed and FIR registered in police station against the owners of the herbal units.
