Deputy Commissioner Lahore warns of terror threat to PPP leadership

Lahore : District Administration has informed Peoples Party leadership about security threats in connection with proposed rally.

Deputy Commissioner Lahore presided over a special meeting in which detailed briefing was given by the police and other security agencies to the representatives of Peoples Party regarding security threats for the rally.

It was informed that present security situation is not suitable for rally of Peoples Party and it will be not proper to do so while keeping in view the security of the participants, however, if it is done then it will be on risk of rally organizer.

However, district administration and police will make full security arrangements. CCPO also rejected the proposal of use of helicopter for party leadership.

Deputy Commissioner Lahore directed to provide best possible security for party leadership and the rally. All out steps will be taken for ensuring smooth flow of traffic on this occasion and directions have been issued for cleanliness and elimination of encroachments on rally route.

Meanwhile ; on Wednesday 18th January, PPP Lahore taken out a “welcome rally” in connection with the Faisalabad Rally of Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The rally was a completely a flop show as neither any central leader nor the Jialays participated the rally.

Faisal Mir and some other organizers led the rally on a truck decorated with Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s pictures and taken a round of Press Club instead of the city.

PPP songs played from the truck during the rally. Workers did not join the rally and only a few people attended the rally.The miserable presence of the participants forced  the organizers  to revisit the rout and they contended to shout slogans and played party songs outside the press club.

Rally was supposed to start from Lahore Press Club at 3:00 pm and to take a round of city from Mall Road to Punjab University,GPO, Data Darbar, Railway Station and ended at Lahore Press.
