Minister health finds miserable condition of DHQ South City Hospital Okara

Lahore : Provincial Minister for Primary and Secondary Health, Kh. Imran Nazir paid a surprise visit to District Headquarter South City Hospital Okara Saturday night.

The Minister went to different departments and wards of the hospital. He amazed to see that there were only two doctors on duty in 125-bed hospital while there was no doctor present in male and female medical wards.

The Minister expressed displeasure over the situation and directed to shift the patients to other hospital. It was disclosed that the patients were referred to purchase medicines from outside despite same were available in the hospital.

Kh. Imran Nazir asked for local purchase record of the medicines which was not available. The Minister directed Deputy Commissioner Okara and Chief Executive Officer Health to immediately enquire the matters regarding absence of doctors, purchase of medicines by the patients from market despite their availability in the hospital and other administrative affairs and submit report to him within 48 hours.

He said that government is providing all out resources for the treatment of patients therefore paying no attention to look after of the patients is intolerable. He said that action will be taken against the responsible in the light of inquiry report.
