Spurious Drugs and raw material recovered from Neela Gumband

Lahore : Immediately after taking the oath of Provincial Minister, Chairman Chief Minister Taskforce for Spurious Drugs, Khawaja Imran Nazir conducted a raid on a private store in the area of Neela Gumband and recovered raw material/chemical used in manufacturing of medicines worth lakhs of rupees recovered from the premises.

The raiding party included Drug Controller Azhar Saleemi, Muhammad Jamil, Kamal Sikandar and Amama Hussain Drug Inspectors. Police party was also accompanied the officials and an accused Muhammad Anwar Khan has been arrested by the police and FIR has been registered in the New Anarkali Police Station.

According to the details, a confidential tip was received to the Provincial Minister on which he along with Health Department’s officials raided the premises of a private store from where huge quantity of raw material used in Ofloxacin, Paracatamol, Caffeine, Salicylic acid, Youhimbine and Aspirin of lakhs of rupees recovered.

Kh. Imran Nazir told that the raw material was illegally stored. He reiterated that elements involved in such illegal trade would not be spared at any cost. He further said that legal action would also be taken against the owners of the store.
