Lahore : PEMRA has suspended the license of Din news for 1 month & NEO News for 7-days with Rs one million fine to each . The authority also imposed fine of Rs one million to Such TV.
Civil society, journalist organisations strongly condemned the ban on Neo News, terming it Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) chairman Absar Alam’s reprisal against the channel.
Journalist organisations and the civil society have also announced to stage protest demonstrations across the country against the ban. The journalist organisations will hold protest demonstrations in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta and other parts of the county at the respective press clubs.
