Lahore : Commander Lahore Corps, Lieutenant General Sadiq Ali has said that education inculcates refinement and civilized behaviour in mankind that forms the edifice of a healthy social order.
He was addressing a High Achievers Award Ceremony of Lahore Garrison Education System (LGES).
The Corps Commander said that the future of our country rests on the proper grooming of our youth and emphasised the need for a healthy academic environment with major focus on character building of students. He said that discipline plays a very vital role in the making of a nation and underlined the need for a more tolerant and progressive social order.
While emphasising on promoting book reading culture among students Lt Gen Sadiq Ali said that it provides the basis of intellectual upbringing. He urged the students to set high goals in life as high objectives have always produced distinctive results. Lt Gen Sadiq Ali said that LGES has experienced a rapid transformation and has lived up to its tradition of dispensing quality education in a conducive environment. He congratulated the awardees, their parents and teachers and said that Pak Army despite its arduous task of defending the national frontiers was contributing amply for promotion of quality education among youth for better future of the country.
Later, Major General (retired) Farrukh Rasheed, Chairman Lahore Garrison Education System (LGES) delivered a welcome address. He threw light on the efforts in place to further enhance the quality of education in LGES. He expressed the hope that the motto of LGES ‘I shall Rise and Shine’ shall continue to serve as a source of inspiration for the students. The ceremony was attended by a large number of students, parents and faculty members.
