Lahore : Due to some technical reasons the 5th November National Challenge Belt bout in super bantamweight category has been pushed forward to November 12 but the venue remains the same.
PBC secretary Rasheed Baloch informed that national champion and challenger Muhammad Waqas Khan from Quetta will be taking on Nadir Baloch for the prestigious belt in 56 kgs super bantamweight category and the bout will now be held on Saturday, November 12. This the first ever sports event going to be held at Gwadar.
He further informed that PBC’s Balochistan vice president Hameed Baloch and Durra Khan are now being helped out by Javed Ashiq from Punjab is looking after for all the arrangements in Gwadar.
Another PCB official informed that the council is facing problem in assembling boxing ring at Gwadar. “The amount being spent in transporting the ring from Quetta is going beyond the limits of arranging a new ring at the venue. This is the only issue that has hampered the organisation of the bout on November 5 and now the council has decided to hold it on 12th,” the official informed.
The PBC secretary said that other than the bout of Nadir Baloch and Waqas a number of under card fights have also been arranged to warm up and amuse the audience. He further informed that the November 12 bout has been dedicated to the victims of recent blast in Quetta. He said that PBC legal advisor Sardar Haleemi has taken care of all the expenses of the event and all the PCB officials in Pakistan will gather on the day of the bout at Gwadar to look after the entire activity and help the organisers.
Dr Abdul Malik who is to be the chief guest of the event has assured full support to the council in the arrangement for any sports activities in Gwadar.
