1st ZTBL National Junior Tennis Championship concludes at Bagh-e-Jinnah

Lahore : Director General Sports Punjab Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghumman has promised to utilize all resources for the progress of sports in the province; he was addressing the prize distributing ceremony of 1^st ZTBL National Junior Tennis Championship at Bagh-e-Jinnah .

Aitchison College Principal Michael Thomson, Assistant Director SBP Waqas Akbar, MD ZTBL Col Khalid, Rashid Malik, Secretary Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA) and a large number of sports lovers were also present on this occasion.

Director General Sports Punjab Zulfiqar Ghumman, who was chief guest of the ceremony, also presented a cheque of Rs 100,000 to Rashid Malik, Secretary Punjab Lawn Tennis Association (PLTA) and said “It’s beginning not the end. Sports Board Punjab (SBP) will go to every extent to bring Pakistan back in the limelight of international sports”.

DG SBP, who recently took charge at Sports Board Punjab, said he will take appropriate measures for the revival of sports activities in the province. “Being DG SBP it’s my commitment to patronize sports activities in the province and insha-Allah I will spend all my energies for the cause of sports,” he added.

Ghumman advised the youngsters of the country to come in the grounds and focus on physical sports instead of video games. He also appreciated the services rendered by veteran tennis star Rashid Malik for the game of tennis.
