Mid Career Officers visit Civil Secretariat

acs-punjab-kh-shumail-ahmad-delegation-of-nimLahore : A 26-member delegation participants of 22nd Mid Career Management Course at National Institute of Management Karachi and Directing Staff visited Civil Secretariat today. Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Shumail Ahmad Khawaja and administrative heads of different departments gave a detailed briefing to the delegation on development strategy in the province.

Directing Staff National Institute of Management Karachi, Col. Ijaz Ahmed and Additional Directing Staff Ms. Shagufta Waris said that most of the members of the delegation are impressed with the style of governance of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif for the progress and prosperity of the country.

Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Shumail Ahmad Khawaja informed the officers of Pakistan Administrative Service, Sindh Provincial Services and Federal Customs Services about the pace of flagship programmes in Punjab and their benefits to the people. He said that four annual phases of Saaf Pani Project worth Rs. 300 billion started in the province four years ago have been completed and the project of supply of potable water through installation of filtration plants at tehsil and town level will be completed next year through Punjab Saaf Pani Company.

Secretary C&W Punjab told that under ‘Pakiyan Sarkan Sokhey Paindy’ project farm-to-market roads are being widened in rural areas. He said that all 10-foot wide roads having triple surface treatment are being widened up to 12 feet under this programme.

Similarly, 2-foot wide shoulders of the roads are now being constructed with concrete.

The delegation was also informed about construction of thermal power stations besides Lahore Orange Line Metro Train Project.
