Lahore : Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Saturday said final date regarding Islamabad shutdown plan will be announced on October 16 (Sunday). He said that the nation was witnessing a time that signified ‘fall’ of the incumbent rulers which was not far away.
Speaking to reporters in Lahore, the PTI chief indicating some changes in party’s plan and said that Islamabad shutdown program revolves around one thing and that is accountability.
PTI chief Imran Khan demanded the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign or present himself for accountability. He categorically said that his decision of refusing to participate in the joint session was correct. There will be tsunami of the masses in Islamabad, he added.
Imran Khan said that “When Institutions fail to function freely, we fail to get justice. We have to protest as no other option is left now,”.
He vowed to keep all roads leading to the government offices in Islamabad blocked until Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif resigns or presents himself for accountability over Panama Leaks issue. “We won’t let you run the government,” Khan warned.
To a question, he said PTI still inviting opposition parties to participate in the protest.
Moreover, while addressing a gathering in Lahore, the chief of PTI said that the government should be run by a fresh premier and Nawaz Sharif should be held accountable for his alleged unaccounted-for wealth.
