Lahore : Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider says ICT interventions devised by Punjab IT Board (PITB) have viably empowered Punjab making the province exemplary. He was being briefed about the technological infrastructure of Punjab by the PITB Chairman Dr. Umar Saif in a meeting held at 90-Shahrah-e-Quid-e-Azam .
Dr. Umar Saif elaborated PITB ‘s distinguished project ‘Citizen Feedback Monitoring Program (CFMP) and other flagship projects of PITB related to the education, health, police, revenue, agriculture, livestock and irrigation etc.
He said “CFMP monitors 20 citizen services with the objective to get feedback & redress grievances of the public. Due to its achievements, CFMP stands tall as a proactive feedback gathering mechanism to tackle petty corruption as the World Bank is also replicating it in European countries like Albania and Romania. On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif we are assisting Sindh, KPK, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan and even Federal Government in the form of Hajj Information Management System.
PITB is working on almost 236 projects bringing change in Punjab through improved transparency, efficiency and good governance. Recently Chief Minister Sindh visited PITB to seek technical assistance in his Police department.
The Prime Minister of AJK lauded Dr. Umar Saif and his team and pledged to replicate CFMP in AJK. “It is impressive how #PITB has technologically aided the sectors of health, education & public service in #Punjab. PITB has proved to be an inspiration for other provinces, which are now developing their #IT sector following suit.” He added.
The minister for Information and Tourism of AJK Mushtaq Ahmad Minhas acknowledges Dr. Umar Saif ‘s expertise & sought PITB’s help to implement such IT systems & share technology with the AJK Government. Special Secretary Schools of AJK also appreciated PITB’s IT initiatives in education sector specially e-Learn Punjab program.
Dr. Saif presented souvenir of Arfa Tower to PM Azad Kashmir as a token of gratitude and assured full support in IT sector.
