Deputy Director DASB urged to resolve ex troops problems

Mandi Bahauddin(Sher Gondal) : Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society (PESS) Mandi Bahauddin delegation led by District PESS President Sher Muhammad Gondal called on Deputy Director District Armed Services Board (DASB) Gujrat Lt Col retired Imtiaz at his office on Thursday to apprise him of problems faced by ex-servicemen, widows of ex-servicemen and martyrs’.

Giving detail of the problems the delegation told DD DASB that according to Defense Ministry directions DASB team was required to attend DASB Camp Office Mandi Bahauddin once a week but for some months this was not being done regularly and as a result ex-servicemen and the widows coming to the camp office go back after waiting for the whole day, finding no one to listen their requests. DDDASB, taking cognizance of the problem told that this failing was due to deficiency of the staff.

He said he had taken up the case with higher authorities to post two more clerks for placing them at DASB Camp Office M B Din permanently.  The delegation also stressed the need to appointing District Liaison Officer and Welfare Coordination Officer for Mandi Bahauddin district for carrying out welfare activities smoothly and efficiently.

The delegation said that for the last so many years no DASB meeting was held. They asked the DASB Chief to arrange DASB meetings on monthly or quarterly basis so that problems of serving and former soldiers concerning district administration could be solved quickly.

The DASB Chief appreciated efforts of PESS and assured the delegation to take steps to resolve welfare problems of Mandi Bahauddin ex-servicemen.
