Lahore : Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, on Wednesday, visited the family of social welfare icon Abdul Sattar Edhi in Karachi and offered his condolences to the family members. He met the deceased’s son Faisal Edhi and also his grandson.
He also visited the residence of famous Qawwali master late Amjad Sabri in the city and expressed his condolences on the martyrdom of the deceased.
Talking to media men at the Edhi residence, the JI chief said that Abdus Sattar Edhi’s death had saddened the entire world. The deceased was a model for the entire humanity. He would live in the hearts of the people for ever as he had spent all his life in the service of the humanity. The deceased had the unique opportunity of giving bath to the record number of dead bodies.
The JI chief said it was a happy sign that the deceased’s son, Faisal Edhi was competent and experienced enough to run the large institution left by his great father. He hoped that Faisal Edhi would continue his father’s mission successfully.
Sirajul Haq urged the federal government to name the Islamabad airport after the late Abdus Sattar Edhi in recognition of his unparalleled services to humanity and also establish a university in his name. He assured all out cooperation to the Edhi Trust.
Talking to the media at the residence of late Amjad Sabri , Sirajul Haq said that Amjad Farid Sabri represented the 200 million people of Pakistan and in his assassination had grieved the Muslims as also non Muslims. The deceased ha kindled the love of the Holy Prophet in the hearts of thousands of people due to which large number of people were still mourning his loss. He said the general public wanted to know why Amjad Sabri’s killers had not been hauled up so far.
