An invitation to military rule is a clear violation of article 6 : Liaqat Baloch

Lahore : Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has termed the campaign from certain elements suggesting extension in Army Chief’s tenure and an invitation to military rule as highly dangerous and an a clear violation of article 6 of the constitution.

In a statement here on Wednesday, he has called upon the federal and the provincial governments to immediately arrest these elements and try them under the law adding that the country could not afford such adventurism any more.  He said that the JI was against de-tracking the constitution, democracy and the judicial system.

The JI Secretary General said that corrupt and unscrupulous elements were about to fall in the grip of the masses and were trying hard to escape the judicial commission and effective accountability. However, he said, these people would not succeed as all avenues of escape were closed.

Liaqat Baloch said the prevailing situation posed a big challenge for the Prime Minister and he should either clear his position before the judicial commission fulfilling the requirements of justice or get ready for public accountability on roads and streets.

He said that the opposition parties were in touch with one another regarding the appointment of the members of the Election Commission and the ToR’s and the opposition stance on these issues was the same.

The JI Secretary General condemned the terrorism by Indian occupation forces in Held Kashmir. He said the martyrdom of Commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani had created a afresh wave of freedom movement and right of self determination in Kashmir. He said that Indian Prime Minister Modi was blatantly violating human rights of Kashmiris and the brutalities of the occupation army had crossed all limits. He stressed upon the Pakistan government to give up false hopes from Indian rulers and instead expose the terrorism of the Indian army at international level. He announced that countywide protests would be held on July 15 against the blasts in Saudi Arabia and the recent bloodshed in Held Kashmir.
