Punjab government to send officials to Saudi Arabia as Khudam ul Hujaj

Lahore : Punjab government has decided to send 50 male and 25 female government officials to Saudi Arabia as Khudam ul Hujaj. These officials between the age of 25 to 45 of up to grade 18 serving in different provincial departments have been selected through balloting.

Majority of these officials who will serve as Khudam ul Hujaj are non-gazetted employees while a few officers of grade 17 and 18 have also been successful. Two principal candidates were nominated by each of 38 provincial departments after balloting while six principal candidates were nominated through balloting from the S&GAD Civil Secretariat Lahore’s Welfare Wing, Implementation Wing, Transport Wing and Admn Wing out of 144 applications received and as such a total of 82 male candidates again went through the balloting process.

Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Shumail Ahmed Khawaja drew the ballot and announced the name of the first successful applicant while the remaining ballots were drawn by the applicants who were also present on the occasion. It may mentioned that only 30 women officials had applied out of which 25 women officials and officers were declared successful.

Punjab government will pay a sum of 2 lakh 52 thousand and one hundred rupees to the Ministry of Religious Affairs for each of grade 9 to 16 government servant while two lakh 91 thousand two hundred and fifty rupees will be paid for each grade 17 and 18 officer.

Additional Chief Secretary Shumail Ahmad Khawaja, Additional Secretary (Admn) Sahibzadi Waseema Umer, Additional Secretary (Transport) Malik Ashiq Hussain Olakh, Deputy Secretary (Personnel) Imran Akram Chuhan, concerned section officers and office-bearers of Punjab Civil Secretariat Employees Association and All Pakistan Stenographers Association were also present on the occasion.
