Patrolling officers to carry out strict enforcement against Passengers overloading : DIG Mirza Faran Baig

Lahore: Accidents analysis reveals that in the case of accidents and incidents, bus crew, hostess suffered badly and in some cases succumbed to death.

As many as 8316 vehicles were checked, 965 tickets issued and 11197 briefing imparted to buses regarding the passenger’s seat not properly provided to bus hostess. Similarly 13938 briefings, 2134 tickets were issued out of 10950 vehicles checked against the passengers overloading by N-5, Central Zone in PSVs on national highways.

On the directions of Inspector General , central launched  an enforcement campaign against passenger overloading in PSVs (Hi-ace Vans/Coaster) were launched in all Beats of N-5 Central Zone. This is said by DIG Mirza Faran Baig while reviewing special enforcement campaign about passengers overloading.

DIG Mirza Faran Baig said Patrolling officers carried out strict enforcement against such vehicles which were involved in Passengers overloading and found with passengers beyond the seating capacity as specified in vehicle registration book.

DSPs and Admin Officers of all Beats of N-5 Central Zone conducted meetings with Transporters and Adda Managers and briefed them that overloading in PSVs will not be tolerated, he added.  The briefing officers particularly at movie points and toll plazas imparted briefing to such PSVs which do not provide passenger seat to bus hostesses and also carried out strict enforcement against them, he said.

DIG lauded the performance of N-5 Central officers and further advised them to put every effort to meet the high standards of professionalism to brighten the name of the department.
