Lahore: A meeting was held between Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Governor Punjab Muhammad Rafique Rajwana, here today. Matters of mutual interest and development projects were reviewed in the meeting. Governor Punjab congratulated Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on presenting the new budget for the year 2016-17 which reflected aspirations of the people.
The Chief Minister said that Punjab government has presented a balanced budget which is people and farmers-friendly. He said that billions of rupees have been allocated for agriculture, education and health while record funds have been provided for uplift of social sectors.
He said that an era of progress and prosperity will usher in through implementation of development programme worth 550 billion. Shahbaz Sharif said that a record amount of 173 billion rupees has been allocated for the welfare and uplift of people of south Punjab. He said that progress of backward areas and provision of basic amenities to the masses is the top priority of the government.
The Chief Minister said that service to the people is the pivot of politics of Pakistan Muslim League-N and it is making all out efforts to provide relief to the masses.
Governor Punjab Muhammad Rafique Rajwana said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Punjab government has presented a balanced budget for the welfare of the people. He said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken commendable steps under Ramazan Package to provide relief to the people in the real sense.
