Lahore: Provincial Budget 2016-17 will be presented in Punjab Assembly on Monday June 13.

Provincial Minister for Finance Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha announced this while presiding over a meeting of Budget Committee at Civil Secretariat, here today.

The Minister said that after getting approval from Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Governor Punjab Rafiq Rajwana, the final date for presenting budget has been fixed.

She said that the budget of the province will be a developmental budget in which increase in growth rate, public friendly tax collection system, social welfare projects, health, communication and strong policies for better performance of important departments besides practical implementation would be introduced. Revolutionary measures would also be announced for addressing the problems faced by small farmers and development of agri sector and special attention is also being paid for giving relaxation in business and increase in export.

She said that ongoing projects would be focused in the budget 2016-17 instead of new schemes so that these are completed at the earliest and common man can be benefited from them. The Minister said that it has been tried to control price-hike in the budget and no sector of public welfare would be neglected.

She informed the meeting that Punjab government is being published a booklet entitled citizen budget along with the draft of budget in which difficult statistics of budget and distribution method has been described in simple language. She said that targets of provincial government, resources of its collection and the objects have been made clear in the budget.
