Wild life team arrest 5 hunters in Cholistan Game Reserve

Wild life team arrest 5 hunters in Cholistan Game ReserveLahore: A raiding team constituted by Director General Wildlife & Parks Punjab Khalid Ayaz Khan led by District Wildlife Officer to check illegal hunting conducted a raid in Cholistan Game Reserve and arrested five accused and recovered three slaughtered Chinkara deer, a partridge and a hare. A departmental fine of Rs. four lakh has been recovered from the accused.

According to details, District Wildlife Officer Rahim Yar Khan Mujahid Kaleem got a tip off that five persons were engaged in illegal hunting upon which he conducted a raid in Cholistan Game Reserve area Toba Mirzaywala. The accused tried to escape upon which they were chased and stopped near Chak No. 225 Daddi Karam Khatoon. They included Muhammad Akram s/o Wali Muhammad Rajput Colony No. 1 Abu Dhabi Palace Rahim Yar Khan, Muhammad Ramzan s/o Haji Goda Sadiqabad, Rahim Yar Khan, Haroon Bukhtiyar s/o Bakhtiyar Sadiqabad, Rahim Yar Khan, Col. (R) Zia-ul-Haq s/o Zarakat Ali caste Sati House No. B7 Sadiqabad Muslim Town, Rawalpindi and Umar Adeel s/o Bakao Din caste Arain Rahim Yar Khan. Three slaughtered Chankara deer, a partridge and a hare were recovered while departmental fine of four lakh rupees was imposed.

DG Wildlife & Parks Khalid Ayaz Khan has announced commendatory certificates and cash prizes for the raiding team. He said that campaign against illegal hunting will be continued and indiscriminate action will be taken against the persons involved.
