I reject the holding of elections of the PFUJ on May 15: Pervaiz Shokat

Lahore: Former president of PFUJ and adviser of International Federation of Journalists Pervaiz Shokat has appealed the journalist community to boycott the so called elections being held in Murree on May 15.In a statement,Pervaiz Shokat said “I want to inform the journalists community that as a former president of PFUJ and adviser of International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), I reject the holding of elections of the PFUJ on May 15″.

We will neither become part of any unconstitutional, undemocratic and illegal step nor would we support it. I urge the reunification committee to arrive at a transparent and impartial decision, and deal with those who divided the organization and damaged it under PFUJ’s constitution. In this way, we would strengthen unity on solid grounds.

Meanwhile; PFUJ ( Rana Azeem ) secretary Amin Yosaf has requested Chairman Unification Committee to for a sub committee to for the audit of PFUJ and UJs accounts.

In a letter Amin Yosaf said ” Respected Ziauddin Sahab AOA, I will request unification committee to form a sub committee who will also investigate and check accounts of PFUJ and all UJs. It is requested that committee should appoint a top level Audit firm and give them the task for proper audit of PFUJ and all UJs. I am offering myself first for accountability.
