Opposition doing politics on Panama Papers: Daniyal Aziz

Daniyal AzizLahore: PML-N Member of the National Assembly Daniyal Aziz Saturday said opposition parties were doing politics on Panama Papers Leaks.
Though the name of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was not mentioned in the Panama Papers, but he had presented himself and his family for accountability, he said while talking to a news channel.
He said on the demand of opposition, the Prime Minister had written a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan for constituting a judicial commission to carry out transparent investigations into the Panama reports.
The opposition parties, he said, were not united on the Terms of Reference (ToRs) for the judicial commission.
Daniyal Aziz said names of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan People’s Party leaders and other people were also mentioned in the Panama Papers.
He said the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) had removed the name of Prime Minister from its main story and its correspondent in Pakistan had mentioned the fact in his story.
Replying to question, he said PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was trying to rise his dead party in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He should have given a development programme for the AJK in his speech rather
than criticizing others, he added.
He said Bilawal Bhutto should know the fact that under the National Reconciliation Ordinance some 8,400 cases against many people were removed and none of those was against the Sharif family.
Commenting on Bilawal’s demand for the Prime Minister’s resignation, he said the PPP Chairman and other leaders had difference of opinion over the matter. He (Bilawal) should keep in mind that there were direct allegations against former Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani but this was not the case against the person of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif,
he added.
