Lahore: Tajir Group won annual elections of the Jinnah Super Market unopposed as rival Jinnah Group withdrew at the eleventh hour.
According to the notification issued by the election commission Qazi Muhammad Ilyas has been elected president of the market for one year. Likewise, Asad Aziz become Senior Vice President, Rana Shahid has been elected Vice President, Abdul Rehman Siddiqui has become General Secretary.
Fasihullah became Joint Secretary, Ibrar will work as Finance Secretary, Dil Khurram Secretary Coordination while Muhammad Malik has been elected as Press Secretary, the notification said.
The group that withdrew papers was led by Ijaz Abbasi who has served as President of ICCI while the winning candidate has served as Senior Vice President of Islamabad Chamber for Small traders.
Speaking at the occasion, patron-in-chief of Chamber of Small traders Shahid Rasheed butt congratulated the winning team. He said that Jinnah Super was one of the best markets in Pakistan which is in shambles due to neglect.
He called upon the winning candidates to leave no stone unturned to get the market regain lost glory and try their level best to resolve the issues of business community.
Shahid Rasheed Butt asked them to come up to the expectations of their voters by ensuring a change.
