Statement of Gen Raheel Shrif is voice of the suppressed people

PESSMandi Bahauddin(Sher Gondal) : Statement of Gen Raheel Sharif is voice of the suppressed people of Pakistan, said President Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society Mandi Bahauddin Major retired Sher Muhammad Gondal while addressing a meeting of ex-servicemen for launching Anti Corruption Movement in the district to create awareness among the public about rising corruption and corrupt practices in all government institutions and departments and its deadly effect on public.

He said so called democratic governments led by major parties had created many mafias, gangs of dacoits and non state actors to suppress and exploit public.

These groups are running parallel governments at every level. They gather loot in form of transport bust stop tax, parking fees at public places, illegally grab land from the weak with political and government backing. They travel with armed security guards like terrorists and fear the public. Law of the country is silent to take cognizance of their illegal actions. A culture of sycophancy and lies prevail in the country.

There is no merit and justice for the poor as decisions and government jobs are given on intercession of the sycophants and bribe. Contracts development projects are granted to blue eyed of government and political personalities.

More than three fourth of funds allocated are misappropriated and divided among contract granting and executing authorities. He said armed forces were already overstretched on security missions all over the country and now they troops were being called to perform police duties to deal with gangs of dacoits. Government has completely failed and its functionaries were most of the time sit idle in their offices and issue false press statements to show their performance.

Earlier the meeting decided to hold a seminar on “rising corruption and how to eliminate it” in first week of coming May. Members of civil society and EDOs of all government departments  would be invited to attend the seminar.
