Lahore: The Rahbar Committee of the religious parties in the country at a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday, resolved to make collective efforts to wipe out corruption and terrorism besides running the country in accordance with the Holy Quran and the Sunnah.
The committee which met with the Islamic Tehrik chief Allama Syed Sajid Naqvi in the chair, also decided that the rulers would not be allowed to frame any policies in conflict with the Quran and the Sunnah. They also resolved to unite the people of Pakistan as also the Muslim world rising above regional, ethnic and political differences.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Sajid Mir, Pir Abdur Rahim Naqshbandi, Pir Ijaz Hashmi, Hafiz Ibtesam Elahi Zaher, Hafiz Aakif Saeed, Pir Nasir Jamil Hashmi and JUI F) leader Maulana Fazal Aali Haqqani.
Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, addressing a press conference after the meeting, said that the committee had decided to approach the ambassadors of different countries in a bid to end Saudi Arabia- Iran tussle. It noted that the powers fanning this conflict were the international arms dealers and their sole aim was to widen the gulf between Muslims states in order to sell their arms and ammunition.
Sirajul Haq said that all religious parties had decided to join hands to preserve the Islamic identity of the country. He said that Pakistan had been carved out in the name of Islam. The country belonged to two hundred billion Pakistanis and only the system of the peoples liking would prevail in the country instead of the will of the ruling elite.
He said that the rulers were trying to cover up the Panama leaks issue instead of going for a thorough enquiry into the matter.
