President Mamnoon Hussain asks NAB for zero tolerance on corruption

Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhry with president mamnoon hussainLahore: President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday said corruption was a grave threat for society and called upon the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to adopt zero tolerance policy against corruption.

The President stated this while talking to Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhary who presented him the NAB Annual Report 2015 here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Mamnoon Hussain emphasized on creating awareness against the ill-effects of corruption and said the societies without effective system of accountability and transparency cannot progress.

He said the role of NAB in eradicating corruption was very important.

The President noted with appreciation that Pakistan’s ranking in the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) had improved as a result of better performance by NAB.

He also stressed the need for an effective mechanism for internal accountability within National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to improve its credibility and performance.
