Ishaq Dar to incorporate business community proposals in the upcoming budget

Mian-ShahidLahore: Chairman of the United International Group Mian Shahid on Sunday asked the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar to incorporate good proposals forwarded by the business community in the upcoming budget. The new budget should be friendly enough to be acceptable for all the stakeholders which will pave the way for rapid national development, he said.

Mian Shahid said that federal budget should trigger massive development by unleashing business activities boosting employment, collections and forex reserves. He said that a better budget should have tax measures as the business community will have to swallow the bitter pill of taxes to repair limping economy and end dependence on donors.

He said that taxes and defence are a must for keep the country safe and there is no country in the history which survived without a tax system. However, he opined that the tax system should be focused on nobility and not on the man on the street.

The veteran business pushed for enhanced defence allocation which were necessary to check terrorism and safeguard economic corridor from enemies.

The allocations for health, education, and agriculture should be revised upward contrary to the demand of lenders, he said. He said that water, power, energy, SMEs, small scale manufacturing, women and some other sectors didn’t get attention in the last budget and should be focused in the upcoming budget.
