Lucky women will get scooties in August

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Women Development Hameeda Waheed-ud-Din has said that the project of provision of scooties to women has been given a final shape.

She was addressing a meeting presided over by Provincial Minister for Finance Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha in the committee room of Civil Secretariat, here today.

Parliamentary Secretary Nawaz Chuhan, Member Provincial Assembly Madiha Rana, Kh. Amjad, Secretary Transport Shaukat Bhatti besides representatives of Women Development Department, Finance, Higher Education and Bank of Punjab were also present.

The meeting reviewed in detail the project of provision of scooties to women. It was informed that the pilot project of provision of scooties will be started in August after final approval of the government and scooties will be provided to women through balloting.

Hameeda Waheed ud Din informed the meeting that the scheme of provision of scooties with the cooperation of Transport Department will later be expanded to other cities. Moreover, she said that in order to ensure protection of women driving scooties, automatic complaint and routing system is also being evolved.
