PHF to organize exhibition matches to mark the celebration of Pakistan Day

Lahore: Hockey Gala under the auspicious of Pakistan Hockey Federation will commence amid a colorful ceremony under floodlight at the National Hockey Stadium here on Pakistan Day (March 23). The Event is a part of the PHF annual calendar.

Giving details Olympian Naved Alam, the chief coordinator of the Event, said in a statement on Tuesday that three exhibition matches will be played to mark the celebration of Pakistan Day. Punjab Minister of Education & Sports Rana Mushhood will be the chief guest. Naved said that the PHF has invited former greats of the game and other government dignitaries to grace the wonderful occasion.

“First match will be played between PHF Veterans and Sports Board Punjab XI, second match (women) will be played between Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah XI and Begum Rana Liaqat Ali XI and the last match will be played between Quaid-e-Azam XI and Allama Iqbal XI”, Naved informed. He added that the players attending ongoing national senior and junior camps in the city would form the Quaid-e-Azam XI and Allama Iqbal XI. Naved who is also director development & domestic of the PHF said that the Gala will be followed by musical program.
