Lahore: Qirat and Naat competitions will be held at district, division and provincial level in universities, colleges and schools in connection with Pakistan Day.
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif will distribute prizes among position holders of the competitions at Aiwan-e-Iqbal.
Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan presided over a meeting which gave final shape to the arrangements of the competitions.
Secretaries School Education and Higher Education as well as concerned officials attended the meeting. Rana Mashhood Ahmed who is convener of Pakistan Day ceremonies committee presided over a meeting and gave final shape to the arrangements of the ceremonies to be held on the occasion of Pakistan Day.
Rana Mashhood said that educational institutions and boy and girl students have a central role in the ceremonies of Pakistan Day therefore officials of both the sections of education department should play their active role in holding of the ceremonies.
The Minister was informed that separate educational institutions have been arranged for competitions of the ceremonies of girl and boy students which include speech contests, games, posters, paintings and recitation from Holy Quran. He said that Chief Minister Punjab will give prizes to position holder girl and boy students at Aiwan-e-Iqbal.
He said that special arrangements of boarding and lodging will be made for the students. He said that DCOs of 36 districts and concerned commissioners have been directed to make arrangements for the students on their visit to Lahore. He directed all officials including DG Protocol to play their active role with full responsibility.
Rana Mashhood said that the ceremonies of Pakistan Day include floats, competitions of national songs, dramas, poetry, books exhibition and games besides colorful jeep race and paragliding and other interesting ceremonies will be held due to which Pakistan Day will be held in a befitting manner.
