Punjab govt notice offensive content in a book after six years

book written by Abdul Hameed TagaLahore: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif while taking notice of including offensive content against a particular segment of society in a book has constituted a 2-member committee headed by Chairman Chief Minister’s Inspection Team Irfan Ali.

The committee will submit its report within three days.  Dr. Zafar Iqbal Qureshi will be member of the committee. The committee will investigate as to why the offensive content published in 2010 edition of the book written by Abdul Hameed Taga and Abdul Aziz Taga remained un-noticed till now.

The committee will recommend a way forward for removal of this offensive content from the book available in the market forthwith. The committee will also review the existing mechanism to check the quality of content being published by private authors / publishers.

The Chief Minister has directed the committee to fix the responsibility of negligence in including objectionable material in the book and submit its report.
