The provision of basic facilities is not on the agenda of the govt: Liaqat Baloch

liaqat balochLahore: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the government was spending billions on publicity campaign but practically there was no element of relief for the general public.

Addressing the third annual conference of the Islamic Homeopathic Association here on Sunday, he said that in fact the provision of basic facilities of health, education, etc. was not on the agenda of the government. He said that the health centers did not enjoy government patronage.

The JI central leader said that the rulers had practically failed in all spheres and were perpetrating injustice and oppression on the masses.

He stressed upon the government to patronize the Homoeopathic and Tib like the allopathic system.

Slating the Women protection law passed by the Punjab Assembly, Liaqat Baloch sad this was part of the conspiracy to undermine the Islamic identity of the country. He said that a meeting of the religious parties would be held at Mansoora on March 15, to devise a strategy for the protection of the Islamic character of the country.

Liaqat Baloch suggested that a high powered judicial commission be formed to hold probe the allegations being leveled by MQM dissident Mustafa Kamal and others.

The other speakers included JI Punjab Chief Mian Maqsood Ahmed, Dr Mian Muhammad Jamil, Dr Shaukat Mehmud and JI Information Secretary Amirul Azeem.
