Pakistan day ceremonies will be started from March 14:Rana Mashhood Ahmad

Lahore: Final shape has been given to preparations of ceremonies regarding Pakistan Day. Committees have been constituted at provincial, divisional and district level for holding sports and speech competitions, paintings, marathon race, paragliding show, book fair and holding of poetry competitions. Besides public sector universities, private sector universities will also take active part in Jashan-e-Pakistan Day.

This decision was taken in a meeting of steering committee on Pakistan Day constituted by Chief Minister Punjab, here today. Secretary Sports, Commissioner Lahore and representatives of concerned departments were present on the occasion.

Rana Mashhood Ahmad informed that meeting that functions regarding Pakistan day will be started from March 14 which include marathon races at divisional level including Lahore, competitions of national songs, quiz shows, wall paintings and sports competitions. Girl and boy students of universities will prepare floats in Lahore. Speech and sports competitions will held at school level from March 14 to 19 which also include cricket, volleyball, football, badminton, hockey, tug of war, basketball, table tennis as well as competitions of wrestling, kabaddi and bodybuilding.

Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that exhibitory matches will also be played between national players of hockey and football in connection with Pakistan Day. Girls guide and boy scouts will present their programmes. Book exhibition relating to Pakistan movement will be held at Quaid-e-Azam Library.

Fateha Khawani will also be held on the graves of deceased workers of Pakistan Movement under Nazaria-e-Pakistan Trust.

Rana Mashhood directed that foolproof security arrangements should be made for all the functions held in connection with Pakistan Day.
