Punjab Government suspends Metro Bus service due to security threats

Metro BusLahore: Punjab Government has announced to shut Metro Bus service in Lahore on Thursday morning due to security reasons. All the buses were moved to Gajju Matta depot.

The decision to suspend the bus service was taken in a high-level meeting attended by Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat, DCO Capt(R) Muhammad Usman, Commissioner Abdullah Sumble and other top officials.

According to spokesperson, the service will remain suspended till 5:00pm for three days.

Lahore MBS currently operates a fleet of 86 buses and ferries up to 10,000 passengers an hour along its 29-kilometre length.

Earlier on Monday, the bus service was suspended in Lahore as the protesters blocked several metro stations after the execution of governor Salman Taseer‘s killer Ghazi Mumtaz Qadri.
