Pervaiz Rashid takes oath from newly elected office-bearers of Mansehra Press Club

Pervaiz Rasheed ,Mansehra press clubLahore: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Pervaiz Rashid on Wednesday said that the government was according top priority to the development and progress of backward and far flung areas of the country.

Far flung areas were being linked through a network of highways  and railway tracks, besides carrying out development works there, he said after administering oath to newly elected office-bearers of  Mansehra Press Club here.

The Minister said work on Burhan-Havalian section of Hazara Motorway was in full swing while the construction of Havalian-Thakot  section would start soon.

He said record projects of power generation had been launched during last two and a half years.  China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, he said, would bring prosperity in the region by generating economic activities.

He said by 2018 Pakistan would emerge as a strong economy as terrorism would have been eliminated and energy crisis overcome by then. He said the government was committed to give the new generation a safe and secure Pakistan. He said bringing countries of the region closer was the Prime Minister’s vision as it was imperative for regional progress.

He congratulated the newly elected office-bearers of Mansehra Press Club and expressed the hope that they would follow lofty journalistic traditions and use their pens and cameras to support  the oppressed and welfare of the masses.

Capt (retd) Muhammad Safdar MNA and PML-N leader Syed Zafar Ali Shah, who were also present during the ceremony, congratulated the  newly elected office-bearers of press club. They hoped that as  elected representatives of Mansehra journalists they would work for the welfare of their community.
