A Model Safari Park being constructed in Jauharabad: Minister for Forests and Wildlife

Lahore Safari Zoo ParkLahore: A Model Safari Park being constructed in Jauharabad so that besides district Khushab, recreational facilities could be provided to the people of the entire division.

While expressing indignation over laxity by Provincial Buildings Department, the Minister for Forests and Wildlife Malik Muhammad Asif Bha Awan has said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif are taking keen interest in early completion of the said project.He directed that the work should be completed at the earliest and coordination be made with the other concerned departments.

Malik Muhammad Asif told that this safari park will be unique than other parks of the country and maximum recreational facilities will be provided in it. He said that this is the only great park of the country which is nearer to the city and people of Jauharabad will easily visit the park on foot. He told that this park will be completed in 2017 at every cost.

Director General Wildlife & Parks Khalid Ayaz Khan, Deputy Director Wildlife Rana Shahbaz Khan, XEN Buildings Provincial Khalid Mohyuddin, DO Wildlife Khalid Mehmood and other officers were present on the occasion.

Deputy Director Wildlife Rana Shehbaz Khan gave a detailed briefing to the Provincial Minister and DG Wildlife. Later, the work being carried out in the park were reviewed in detail.

DG Wildlife directed XEN Buildings Provincial to immediately review the funds and works of current financial year and submit a report so that funds could not be lapsed. It was told during the briefing that Secretary Forests has also visited this park and only those trees were cut which are creating hurdles in the construction of the park while other trees will be protected. It was told that 20 crore, 10 lakh and 60 thousand rupees has been approved for construction of this work. The construction work of the park was started in April 2015 and April 3, 2017 has been fixed as completion date.

Moreover, six crore, four lakh and 14 thousand rupees have been spent so far. XEN Provincial Buildings assured that the funds received this year will be spent in stipulated period and every effort will be made to complete the work of this year.
