Hamid Khan panel sweeps LHC Bar Association elections

Lahore: Hamid Khan panel swept LHC Bar Association elections with clear majority,Hamid Khan group’s Rana Zia Abdurrehman elected president by getting highest votes 4279.He defeated PML-N and PPP’s joint candidate belong to Asma Jahangir group’s Ch Muhammad Ramzan Advocate who got 3795.On VP slot,Hamid Khan group’s Sardar Tahir Shahbaz Khan secure his seat by getting 2065 votes whereas his opponents MR Awan got 1329,Ch Saleem 1501,Rashid Lodhi 1362,Sardar Tahir 2065,
Sh. Shakhawaj 1113 and Mian Wasim 668. On secretary slot another candidate of Hamid Khan group’s
Anas Ghazi won by getting 3912 votes whereas his competitors Jawad Ashraf 605,Sharjeel 3053 and
Uzma got 497 votes.

Asma Jahangir group’s could only secured Finance Secretary seat,her candidate Asad Bukhari got 3721 votes whereas his opponent Deba got 2547 votes and Zeeshan Amir got 1758 votes.

The lawyers celebrated their win by dancing on the beat of Dhol and shouted slogans in favour of their group and leaders.

Biometric elections were conducted first time in the history of Lahore High Court Bar.The two members of Election Commission were specially came to observe the elections on Biometric system.
