Sports can bring Pakistan-India closure:Hamza Shahbaz

Hamza ShahbazLahore: Hamza Shahbaz MNA has said that our youth is very talented. He said that opportunities and sports grounds will be provided to the youth so that they could win laurels for Pakistan in future. He said that Pak-India cricket is a good omen and it could bring both countries closure. He said that game should be played in sports grounds and the youth should move forward jointly in the environment of respect. He said that there is a winner and a runner up in any game but sportsman spirit and physical healthy are of paramount importance for the promotion of sports activities.

Addressing the concluding ceremony of Commissioner School Cricket Championship at Qaddafi Stadium, Hamza Shehbaz said that extortion of money, kidnapping for ransom and other crimes continuing for the last 20 years in Karachi have been eliminated.

He said that Pakistan is being made a prosperous country by eliminating terrorism forever through Zarb-e-Azb operation by Pak Army. He appreciated holding of tournament between 16 teams of schools of Lahore Division including Sheikhupura, Nankana, Kasur and Lahore districts and announced to also hold such championships in other districts of the province. He said that Punjab government will provide funds in this regard.

He congratulated a youth Zaid on winning three cash prizes of Rs.40 thousand each and said that he should be proud of being a son of vender and pray for his father over this success.

Organizer of the championship Javed Zaman told that this tournament was held by observing all rules and regulations of cricket. Commissioner Lahore Abdullah Sumbal lauded the performance of all four districts including DCO Lahore Muhammad Usman.

Hamza Shahbaz gave away cash prize of three lakh rupees and a trophy to the winning team and cash prize of two lakh rupees to runner up.  He also presented a special shield to cricket legend Majid Khan (Mighty Khan). Test umpire Aleem Dar, former cricketers Salim Malik and Shafiq Papa were also present on the occasion.
