DG Rescue 1122 KPK Dr Asad Ali Khan visits Emergency Services Academy,Lahore

Lahore: The Director General, Emergency Rescue Service (Rescue 1122), KPK, Dr. Asad Ali Khan visited Emergency Services Academy here on Friday, where he held a meeting with Director General, Emergency Services Academy, Brig. (R) Amir Hamza and discussed about future collaboration regarding capacity building; provision of technical assistance and imparting training to the rescuers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122), Brig. (R) Dr. Arshad Zia, Registrar Emergency Services Academy, Dr. Muhammad Farhan Khalid, Deputy Director (HR) Dr. Foaad Shahzad Mirza, Emergency Officer, (Research & Coordination), Mohsin Durrani and other officers were also present on this occasion.

The Director General, Dr. Asad Ali Khan shared that Rescue 1122 KPK department comprising of dedicated rescuers was continuously providing the best emergency services to the citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that the mission of Rescue 1122, PKP was to focus on ensuring health; safety, and well-being of our community by providing prevention and mitigation of fire, medical and life safety hazards in an effective, efficient and professional manner. He further shared about expansion process of Emergency Rescue Service in KPK and urged the Director General, Emergency Services Academy to continue assisting the KPK Rescue Service in kind of providing training and technical assistance.

Brig. (R) Amir Hamza, speaking on this occasion, said that on special directions of Chief Minister, Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the Emergency Services Academy is providing free of cost training to 4th batch of rescuers of KPK. He said that the Punjab Government is playing a pivotal role to create harmony and assist other provinces in capacity building in different sectors including emergency services.

In this regard, the Home Secretary Punjab, Maj. (R) Azam Suleman has specifically directed the Punjab Emergency Service & Emergency Services Academy to enhance collaboration with other provinces & provide them technical assistance in replication of emergency management model (Rescue 1122). Brig. (R) Amir Hamza further said that Emergency Services Academy has become a national platform and Centre of Excellence for imparting training to rescuers and capacity building of the rescue cadets not only from Punjab but from KPK, AJK, GB, Baluchistan and Sindh.

The Director General emphasized that the peace time training together is mandatory for collectively and effectively responding to any major disaster. Brig. (R) Amir Hamza also assured the Director General, PKP that the doors of this training institute were always open for emergency services of all provinces as this academy has become a symbol of harmony among all provinces of Pakistan.

He further said that “imparting quality training & inculcation of self-discipline” were the key components, therefore, the rescue cadets are gone through rigorous training period and zero tolerance is shown regarding discipline.

The Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122), Brig. (R) Dr. Arshad Zia also thanked Director General, KPK for his visit and maintained that both organizations shall work together like shoulder-to-shoulder for establishment of safer communities in Pakistan.

Later, Dr. Asad Ali Khan met the under training Rescue Cadets from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and asked them to abide by the rules & regulations and training decorum.
