Punjab government is the first provincial government setting up SDG Unit: Dr Ayesha Ghaus

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Finance Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha has said that project of achieving SDGS is a complete and comprehensive system and Punjab government accords top priority to its implementation at provincial and district level. She said that cooperation of Finance Department and stakeholders regarding budget policy is commendable.

She expressed these views while addressing inaugural ceremony of SDG Unit set up with the cooperation of Punjab government and UNDP at Planning & Development Department, today. She said that Punjab government is thankful to the trust and cooperation of United Nations.

Country Head UNDP Mark Ander signed an agreement of cost sharing with Chairman P&D Muhammad Jehanzeb and congratulated Punjab government being the first provincial government setting up SDG Unit. He assured the Minister that full assistance will be provided to Punjab government for administrative affairs and achievement of objectives of the unit.

Chairman P&D highlighted details of SDG Unit and the services provided by Planning & Development Department and expressed determination of complete cooperation with UDN. Chief Field Officer UNICEF Douglas G. Hagon and Dr. Naeem-ul-Zafar also spoke on the occasion. Dr. Saeed Shafqat, Dr. Abid Sulehri and Kamil Majeed were also present on the occasion.
