Rescue 1122 evacuate hundreds of student on receiving a call of terrorists attack

Lahore: The Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi received call of terrorist activity in Command and Control Room at 1005 and immediately dispatched Rescue Teams to Viqar-un-Nisa College for timely emergency medical cover and safe transportation to the hospitals.

The Rescue teams were at the incident side within 06 Minutes and started Rescue, Evacuation and First Aid activities. Meanwhile few students indicated that actual firing was heard from Viqar-un-Nisa Higher Secondary School.

On scene Rescue 1122 incident commander at Viqar-un-Nisa collage Ms.Deeba Shahnaz Akhtar evacuated mentally traumatized, bitterly weeping and panic students with cooperation of collage administration and trained students by Rescue 1122, whereas 2^nd Rescue team under command of District Emergency Officer Dr. Abdul Rahman conducted Rescue Operation in Viqar-un-Nisa Higher Secondary School and safely evacuated junior students from class 1 to higher classes.

The Spokesperson Rescue 1122 and on scene commander in collage found Viqar-Un-Nisa Collage students panic after hearing Firing and announcement about terrorist activity in the collage. Students got injuries due stampede and became unconscious due to fear.

Rescue 1122 immediately responded to the incident side and safely evacuated about 3000 students, from the classes and houses situated at back side of the collage, whereas 400 students were safely evacuated and handed over to parents from Viqar-un-Nisa Higher Secondary School. Furthermore 05 minor injured students from Viqar-un-Nisa Collage have been provided first aid and 3 patients including 02 unconscious and 01 injured have been shifted to the hospital after provision of Emergency Medical Treatment.

During the panic situation many students tried to escape from the terrorist and jumped from the collage wall at back side and got shelter in nearest houses.

Ms Deeba Shahnaz Incident Commander along with lecture collage went to house to house to evacuate panic students and also established information desk with coordination of Principal Collage for coordination of missing students by linked it with Rescue 1122 Control Room for public convenience.

The Incident Commander Ms Deeba said It was real time learning that we are prepared to deal with any such incidents in a better way with collective efforts. The close coordination and prompt response from security and safety related institutions highlighted good level of emergency preparedness.

She further said although terror caused mental trauma in the students bit its highly appreciable that trained students by Rescue 1122 in collage helped a lot in process of Safely Rescue, Evacuation and First Aid. Allah keeps all of us safe and secure from such real incident. Ameen  (She added).
