Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujaat Hussain has said that stopping the protesters is duty of the police, involving the Rangers in routine protest is not proper.
In a statement issued here today, he said that the Rangers should not have scuffled with protesting PIA employees in Karachi, yesterday on television police was showed less and the Rangers’ scuffling with PIA employees, involving themselves in such incidents damage the prestige of the Rangers.
He said that peaceful protest is the fundamental right of everybody but if the matters like damaging public or government properties or riots, the situation goes out of hands of police only then the Rangers should be called whereas routine matters should be handled by police itself because it is the duty of the police to stop the protesters.
