Rana Mashhood presides over a review meeting of security of universities

Lahore: Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that effective implementation on all points of SoPs is essential for the security of universities. He said that Vice Chancellors of the universities should take personal interest and ensure implementation of the steps being taken for their respective institution. He said that the students are future of the country and no compromise can be made in the security of these institutions.

He expressed these views while presiding over a review meeting of security of universities at Government College University, today. Vice Chancellors of various public and private universities attended the meeting and informed about the security problems.

Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said that Punjab government is utilizing all out resources for the security of educational institutions and law enforcement agencies have also been taken on board for this purpose. He said that special SoPs have been prepared for the protection of universities which include wall through gates, installation of search lights for the protection of hostels, use of single gate for entry and exit and deployment of trained security guards.

The Education Minister directed Vice Chancellors to review in detail all situation inside and outside of their institutions and in case of poor security arrangements, immediate action should be taken in this regard.
