Polio vaccination team attacked at Mandi Bahauddin

Mandi Bahauddin (Sher Gondal): A two-member anti-polio vaccination team including a lady health worker was attacked by an unruly Pathan Akbar Khan at Mohala Mumtazabad in Mandi city the other day.

Lady Health Worker Um Kalsume and Shahzad Nazir were tasked with vaccinating children in Mandi city area as part of a polio eradication campaign launched in this district on Monday.

The team vaccinated large number of children in Mumtaz Mohala but as soon as they reached Dera Pathanan, one Akbar Khan Pathan started abusing and manhandling them. Police constable detailed with the team was not accompanying the team.

Civil Line Police was informed about the occurrence who registered case against the accused for abusing and manhandling the team. The accused was arrested and further legal proceeding is in progress.
