American Consul General Zachary Harkenrider visits Mazar of Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh

Lahore: American Consul General in Lahore Zachary Harkenrider accompanied by Provincial Minister for Food Bilal Yasin went to Mazar of Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh and laid a floral wreath on the mazar.Secretary Auqaf & Religious Affairs Nayyar Iqbal and DG Auqaf & Religious Affairs Syed Tahir Raza Bukhari were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, American Consul General Zachary Harkenrider said that Mazars of Sufi saints are centers of peace, guidance and accommodation. He said that teachings of Sufi saints promoted brotherhood, peace, harmony, accommodation and tolerance among  people of different religions. He said that the teachings of Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh are source of guidance for the people of entire world. He said that people seek guidance from the  excellent traditions of religious harmony and accommodation and these traditions are enhancing the cultural beauty of the society.

Talking to the journalists, Bilal Yasin said that sufi saints have played an important role for the propagation of Islamic teachings in the subcontinent. He said that due to the teachings of peace, accommodation and harmony of sufi saints, the entire nation is on the one page for safeguarding the country and fighting against terrorism.
