Lahore: Special Monitoring Unit (SMU), Law and Order, Chief Minister’s Office with the collaboration of Excise and Taxation (E&T) department has called for applications for the dealers in Lahore to apply and obtain licensees in order to acquire dealer vehicle registration system and register vehicles and issue license plates at their dealerships on behalf of the Excise and Taxation department.
The DVRS initiative forms a part of SMU’s “Transport Sahulat Program” (Transport Facilitation Program). As the registration of vehicles and license plates will be done at the point of sale, the tax payers will no longer have to go through a tedious and time consuming process or be exploited by unregistered and unregulated agents.
The dealers have been invited for applications under the Punjab Motor Vehicle Transaction Licensees Act 2015. The criteria for dealer application includes registration as a company or a partnership firm, possession of human resource with adequate knowledge of motor vehicle laws and procedures, sufficient resources to meet the obligations under the license, conducting business of motor vehicle dealership since last three years, reasonable office premises, requisite information technology infrastructure in the office premises, no criminal record of any of its directors, members of partners and credit history report of the applicant exhibiting minimum monthly transactions of three million rupees during the last six months.
Application forms can be downloaded from website www.excise-punjab.gov.pk or can be obtained from the office of Additional Director General, Excise & Taxation, Punjab.
Interested/eligible persons can send applications to the office of Additional Director General Excise & Taxation, Punjab 847-A, Shadman, Lahore till 15th January 2015. After the pilot of DVRS in Lahore, it will be rolled out in Punjab.
