The work for operating newly constructed Inpatient OT Block reviewed

Lahore: A meeting of Project Review Committee was held at Children Hospital Lahore which reviewed the work for operating newly constructed Inpatient OT Block consisting of 614 beds and 16 operation theaters of the hospital.

Executive Engineer Building Department informed that construction work of new block is in the final stages while installation of HVAC system has been completed. He said that Additional load of electricity and sui gas is necessary for utilizing this building.

Medical Director Children Hospital Lahore said that approval has already been given for increasing load of electricity and all the dues have been paid to LESCO in this regard. He said that Chief Executive LESCO has also been contacted for early completion of the work.

He said that Punjab government has allocated budget for 1881 new posts during current financial year and recruitment against these posts is continuing. He said that 525 nurses, 620 technical and paraprofessionals, 586 paramedical staff and 150 doctors and specialists will be recruited against these posts.

The meeting also decided that new block will be made operational in phases. In the first phase, General Medical-III and Neurology Ward will be shifted into the new building and shifting of these wards will be completed by the end of March 2016.
